Bee Inspired- October

So I have to say this month was a little bit challenging. Natasha had all of us work with mini hexagons. I was a hexagon virgin, like most of my bee inspired friends, but was excited to take a stab at it. I LOVED making this block! It was a little time consuming since you have to piece all the hexagons by hand. I didn't mind too much. Luckily I was able to just sit in front of the tv during a must watch line up on thursday night :)

I do need to practice a little bit more because, although the picture doesn't show this- conveniently (haha), I have lots of visible stitches on my hexagons. It was only until the last three that I decided to test out a different stitch than Natasha had suggested. She had sent us a great tutorial on how to make the block and said to whip stitch the hexagons together. I decided to try out a ladder stitch. It hid my stitches much better. I hope Natasha likes what is coming her way.

Have you finally tried something that intimidated you lately?

Take care mucho,
-Natalie

  1. I think you did a fantastic block. I am going to have to try that ladder stitch as well. Thanks for letting me know about it.
