My OP Giveaway day!!!

Ok I am very sorry that it is so late in the morning before I post this but I just had to sleep in today because I was quite exhausted from my day yesterday.  I even decided to piece most of the top last night despite my posting.  What do you think?

I know it is totally different but I do love the way it turned out.  I also have to confess that I wasn't an orange fan but I have definitely converted!!! I loved going shopping for this weekend. I actually bought way too much so will be trying to make a more "traditional" top today since I went a little crazy yesterday, haha.

Also I am part of Pat's blog hop so there is a giveaway in order, YAY!!!

As I posted before I am giving away an apron and dish towel, I know I know not at ALL orange.  I tell you it was totally out of my comfort zone.
So, in the ORANGE spirit, I have added to my giveaway an orange fat quarter bundle from Sew Mama Sew to add to someone's OP.  Check out the link to see the fabrics you will be receiving!! I actually think I am going to order me one too, haha.  I think Pat has made me an orange freak now :)

All you have to do is comment on this posting and you will be in the running.  Let me know how you are doing with your OP challenge and if you are a weirdo, haha, like me and did something totally different.  I love to hear from you!

Happy Orange sewing!

  1. Very cute apron! I love the fabric. Orange isn't so bad, but not one of my favorites either. I'm actually a pink girl!!!

  2. Geez, I am so far behind, I have been binding a quilt and finally took it (the poor thing was kicking and screaming that it wanted to be finished) and set it aside to pull out the orange fabrics I didn't think I had. Lord am I embarrased, my orange stash covers my sewing table, all 6 feet of it. Anyway, I have seen the 'Sew Mama Sew' orange fabrics and they are delightful. Thanks for the chance to have them. and YES, I love your project. It is so cheerful and I rarely follow a patter exactly. I don't know why, it is kind of like a recipe, adding things you like and taking away those you don't. Okay, I've got to get cracking on my OP project.

  4. Hi Natalie! Love the apron and the dish towel. I bought some plain white towels and I really like what you did. Orange isn't my color, but I do think I need to spread my wings and try something, and the dish towel is a good option! Of course, I just got my FQ bundle from Pat of Arabella - I pulled all the oranges out of it, and there's plenty of others to play along with. . .so many decisions! Thanks for helping to make the weekend so fun! amy, in south lyon, MI

  6. I absolutely love the apron! Thank you for the great giveaway. And yes, I've been "fighting" with myself over doing the block as is or something different after I cut it into quarters. Now, I guess seeing yours, it's okay to be part rebel! Thanks again!!

  7. I am loving the blog hop! I have my fabric pulled, but I have to do my chores (ugh!) first. Between "playing" at the blog hop & thinking about my chores (snicker!), I wonder if I'll ever get to sew! Love the apron (cute, cute, cute) and the dish towel!!!

  12. Love the apron but orange isn't really my colour, much prefer blues and purples

  13. Your quilt is 'orangesome'! It reminds me of the disappearing 9 patch technique. I have been resisting the urge to flip my pieces around...so far. Not much into it today - kids and hubby are home. Thanks for the great giveaway.

  14. The apron and towel are very cute even if they aren't orange. I was not a big orange fan either but I am quite please with my quilt. I am using green and hope to have mine posted tonight. Thanks for participating in the giveaway.

  16. I didn't think I had much orange fabric either...until I started pulling it. I filled up my ironing board about 8-10 inches high and that didn't include the "fall" brownish orange fabrics.
Love your give away even if they aren't orange. Thanks for participating

  28. Orange is out of my comfort zone also. In 1970, I received a friendship quilt -- orange sashing! I painted my bedroom to match. Yuk! I've had enough orange. But maybe just as an accent....
    Love your apron!

  35. Adorable apron! Brings back memories of my grandmother, and how on holiday dinners, my Dad would always sneak up behind her and untie the apron! And, wow....I love bright colors, never used a lot of orange, but I am finding it addicting, too!

  36. I wasn't able to do the OP Challenge this week. Mom had some medical problems that kept me from getting ready for it. But I did do a mini retreat with friends today and got 2 purses made.

  39. I love orange -- but I love ALL autumn colors, so orange is a natural there. I'm not usually an apron fan, but yours is very cute, and I love the towel. Thanks for entering me. Your quilt is fun and happy! I'm doing something different than a lot of people seem to be -- I'm making the block as directed, but I'm not making them in pairs and I'm not keeping a consistent color in a consistent position. Just cut some of each piece from each fabric, and letting it happen. Fun stuff!

  40. Love your orange quilt...and the giveaway apron and towel. I only got as far as pulling orange fabrics - hope to get more done tomorrow!

  41. Well I am making a tote bag tomorrow I will put it together and boy is it a bright happy orange. Orange is not my best color but you can't have enough totes no matter the color. Love what you have done with your orange, I think it is happyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!! Sharon
